THE BEE BOY
OUT OF CHARACTER
π backtagging
β I will happily backtag into infinity (though I'm also 100% fine with dropping or wrapping threads if preferred). I run a bit slowly through the week, so Backtag Life is definitely essential for me.
π fourthwalling
β I'm fine with it! Hugh is quite used to bizarre things by this point and would honestly just roll with it.
π threadhopping
β If all parties are cool with it, no problem.

IN CHARACTER
π physical affection
β Hugh loves physical affection and often instigates it! He might literally start buzzing with appreciation or... cough up a bee, but;;;
π physical violence
β Sure; depending on the situation, Hugh and his bees may or may not fight back. Most of the time they will not, as he likes to keep the peace, doesn't want his bees to get hurt, and in general they are very docile to begin with.
π romance / etc.
β I am open to ~shippy things, as long as they are extremely gentle and age appropriate. Book canon doesn't specify an age, but he seems to be one of the "older kids", while movie canon has him as one of the younger kids. I sort of blend the two, so my depiction of Hugh is ~12 / 13. While I do play into the fact he is an "old soul in a young body", my portrayal of him is that he is mentally a child, albeit one that has been around a long time. Also, my kingdom for a Fiona. πΌπΌ
π magic / psychic abilities / etc.
β All goes. There could be the potential to detect the minds of his bees as well, given they're often all mentally connected with him.

CONTENT WARNINGS
π insects / insect "horror" warning
β Bees are, clearly, a huge part of his character. His bees commonly go in and out of his mouth, and live inside of his stomach. It's meant to be a mixture of quirky, cute, and creepy, and isn't portrayed as "horror" (nor is it perceived as anything horrific by Hugh, as it's simply part of how his body works), but I understand some people may see it as outright horror and prefer not to interact with him. Or if you'd prefer for his bees not to make an appearance, give me a heads up and they won't be brought up, staying hidden away!
π child experimentation / terror
β Despite its whimsical nature, Hugh's canon is actually extremely dark. It involves themes of children being hunted by ookey tentacle tongue creatures, killed, kidnapped, sold into servitude, and experimented on. While these darker concepts won't just be thrown around, themes of fear in Hugh regarding these concepts may often come up.
